Hi, I'm Heidi and I'm so glad you're here.

I'm the founder of Reclaiming Beauty, and I believe embodiment heals. I'm here to support you in healing your relationship with food and your body so you can free yourself from destructive thoughts and behaviors and discover the inner peace and freedom you deserve.

As a Body-centered psychotherapist, I have 18 years of experience supporting clients in addressing trauma and attachment wounds that have led to a challenging relationship with food and body. I use an integrated approach drawing on my training in Embodied Recovery for Eating Disorders, Somatic Internal Family Systems, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Expressive Arts and Yoga. I am thrilled to have completed my certification process as a Certified Body Trust® Specialist.

Are you a highly sensitive, creative, intuitive, and intelligent person struggling to find your place in a world designed for thick-skinned people?

It is an honor to help you address your food and body challenges so you can embrace these beautiful, powerful and misunderstood aspects of yourself for what they are: gifts for yourself and the world.

We live in a world that perpetuates underlying fears of unworthiness, unlovability, not being good enough, being too much, and idealizing certain physical qualities while shaming others.

These fears impact our relationships with our bodies. I’m passionate about these subjects because I, too, have experienced these obstacles in my life, and want my clients to feel the freedom that comes from this healing journey.

With my loving presence, sharp intuition and unconditional acceptance, I help clients develop a more mindful, curious understanding of what led to their self-objectification and self-criticism. Through healing the underlying beliefs and working through challenges that arise in day-to-day life, you will find lasting freedom from these negative mental patterns.

I view eating disorders and disordered eating as important messengers of the soul.

I believe eating disorders arise as an attempt to protect from uncomfortable feelings and emotions related to trauma and attachment wounding.

I support you to recognize how your eating disorder/disordered eating patterns serve you so you can develop the skills to let go of the unhealthy coping mechanisms. I support my clients shifting from being at war with their bodies to discovering how the body can be one of our greatest resources.

I am also passionate about the social justice aspect of body and food concerns.

I encourage my clients to challenge internalized weightism and sizeism as they heal their relationship with their body.

My vision for you: A life free from destructive thoughts and unhealthy coping mechanisms so you can show up in every relationship fully, wholeheartedly and authentically as the powerful, beautiful and unique human that you are.
