Community as a Resource: Coping with Compassion Fatigue

Community as a Resource: Coping with Compassion Fatigue

WNC iaedp Atlanta Continuing Education Series 2021

Friday August 18, 2021

In-person Retreat Co-Facilitated with Ginelle Krummey of Growth Point Collborative, PLLC

9am- 2pm

Join our small group gathering for our first in person event this June! After a long separation and a year with our heads down in our work, it's time to start creating our new normal. Lunch will also be provided and the grounds are beautiful...we can spread out and even take the workshop outside potentially. It will be so good to see you again.

In this event you will be able to:

  1. Identify and define 4 service provision related syndromes (burnout, compassion fatigue, secondary traumatic stress, vicarious traumatization) and understand the risk factors and treatment options for them.

  2. Create awareness of personal symptomatology, explore range of responses from personal to community-based, and create action plan for response and prevention.

  3. Discuss and mindfully practice experiential, inclusive, polyvagal-informed and accessible movement based skills for addressing compassion fatigue.
